The latest commercial data from Rightmove Commercial, shows that retail property demand has returned to pre-pandemic levels, hitting a 15 month high.
The long awaited reopening of non-essential retail this week in England is a welcome boost for a retail sector which has been amongst the hardest hit during the pandemic.
Andrew McGuiness, Director of Barker Proudlove, retail property consultants added “We have noticed a steady increase in retail enquiries since the middle of March as the country eases its way out of lockdown. Despite the move towards online shopping and the problems caused to the retail sector by repeated lockdowns, we are confident that the high streets and shopping centres will evolve and have a bright future. We are hoping demand continues on an upwards trajectory over the coming months as we welcome new and exciting occupiers which will benefit the consumer retail experience.”
It seems that even the most Covid hit sectors of Commercial property are showing remarkable resiliance.
