Demand for Pharmacy Investments increased substantially in 2020, with a 45% increase in new buyer registrations during the first lockdown
according to pharmacy broker Hutchings Consultants in a recent report.
75% of registrations were first time buyers and 15% existing pharmacy investors keen to grow their portfolio.
The investment thesis was solid, chemists and pharmacies have remained open the whole way through lockdown, coupled with an increase in overall health awareness. Alongside convience stores, pharmacies were one of the few High Street commercial investments much in demand throughout 2020.
With fewer opportunities coming to market in 2020 and increased demand, values understandily rose.
